He has a book out called “Untie the Knots That Tie UpYour Life” (http://www.dynamiccollegespeaker.com/products.html#book). Through the book he provides college students with a program for developing a life of better! Better what? Let’s explore!

1. Better Health

Believe me, if you don’t have your health you don’t have a lot. I thought I was invincible. Traveling all over the country as I was doing. The last 18 months I have been in the hospital more than I have ever been the other 48 years of my life. Just because you’re young and in college doesn’t mean yuou won’t get sick. You need to take better care of yourself NOW.

2. Better Balance

Sure, you need to study hard, but you need to play as well. You also need to balance that with quiet time. You can even throw work into the mix. Here is the secret. Balance your life out so that you can learn to enjoy everything that you do. It’s easy to get stressed and burned out.

3. Better Significance

How do you feel about yourself? I want you to know that you make a difference in the lives of people. You have friends and family that care about you and enjoy your company. I also want you to be proactive with this. You can make people feel good about themselves by taking time to listen to them and know they are significant in YOUR life!

4. Better Harmony

When you strive to be your best for yourself and other people, you tend to have better harmony with the world around you. Take the time to sit quietly and contemplate your goals and what you want out of life. Visualize how you want your life to play out. By doing this you will be in harmony with the universe.
5. Better Potential

Live up to your leadership potential. Use your dreams, ambitions, and goals and go after the things that you want in life. Don’t be afraid to fail. Be willing to try and not give up. The only way you can live toyour fullpotential is to LIVE!

6. Better Prosperity

I don’t buy into the name it and claim it game. But I do believe that if you name it and work hard for it, it can become yours. I believe that if your broke, it’s because you have decided that is where you want to be. Only YOU can make the DECISION (www.YouMakeTheDecision.com) where you want to end up in life. So make the DECISION NOW!

3 Knots to Untie

In our last episode (www.encouraging101.podOmatic.com) we talked to Ty Howard (www.tyhoward.com) about ‘Knots’ in college student lives that they need to overcome to become good decision leaders.

1. Poor Time Management

Time management is essential for college students. The decision has already been made of what type of time management you are going to have. It will either be good or bad. The good news is that you can make a change if you don’t like the results. You can get a free copy of my Time Management For College Students E-book by signing up for my FREE newsletter
www.leadershipdecisioncollegeradio.com.

2. Procrastination

One of my mentors, Anthony Robbins (www.tonyrobbins.com) is the best that I have found that explains procrastination in his book ‘Awaken the Giant Within’ explains it this way. We are creatures of pleasure over pain. Rather than experience something emotionally (or even physically) painful, we will procrastinate dealing with it. At least until the pain of not getting it done becomes more painful than actually doing it.

3. Toxic Distractions

These can include relationships or addictions that are not good for us. They take our direction off of the end result that we have in mind. Relationships can be dangerous if we do not have set goals and boundaries. How often have you spent daydreaming about the person of your dreams. That is bad enough, but what makes it toxic is if they are always trying to manipulate you away from your goals for achieving your future.

Share some you your KNOTS with us that you are trying to UNTIE!

6 Reasons for Attending the National Collegiate Leadership Conference

Why attend the NCLC in Tucson at the Arizona University in February?

1. It’s WARM!!

If for no other reason than to get out of the cold weather you may live in…this is a good one. I come from St Louis and it has been frigid in January. I’ll be in Chicago the week before I come to Tucson so I’ll be looking for some nice weather. Last year it was in the 60’s. I’m sure it will be a lot nicer than where I’m coming from!

2. Great Workshops and speakers!

There are over 60different workshops to attend. Information regarding leadership, life, money, etc. The speakers are from the University of Arizona, University of Nevada, Ohio University, and other organizations. More can be found at the website at: http://arizonaleadership.orgsync.com/org/nclc/workshops

3. Great Keynote Speaker - Given Kachepa!

Given Kachepa was orphaned at age 9, brought to the United States at age 11, As a Zambian singer Given thought he traveled to raise money for Zambian schools, his siblings, a salary and an education. Realizing no schools were being built, no money was going to him or his family, singing 4-7 concerts a day, food withheld and no education, Given became a victim of Human Trafficking, modern-day slavery. Rescued by INS in 2000, Given sought to make a difference to educate the public about the atrocity of Human Trafficking.

4. Great Motivational Speaker – Dr. James Knight

Traveling to all 50 states, Trinidad & Tobago, Puerto Rico, Costa Rica, Canada, Guam, England, Ireland, Indonesia, Cameroon, South Africa, and Namibia, Dr. Knight has made literally thousands of presentations on such topics as School Climate, Motivation, Leadership, Educational Excellence, Teaching Effectiveness, Equity Issues, Educational Reform and other related topics.

5. The Registration Price is Astronomically LOW!

Believe me! I’ve been to a lot of conferences. What you will learn and take away from this conference is so much more than your investing. As a matter of fact, you’ll feel so guilty that you’ll want to give them some extra money cause you almost feel like your stealing all the knowledge. Get in on this bargain conference and you can pay them back by using and sharing the information that you have gained!

6. I’ll be there!

Last but certainly not least, I’ll be there presenting! I am doing 2 breakout programs. They are “The Leadership Decision” and “Lessons Learned From Leadership Decision College Radio”. They are both interactive programs and the latter will use excerpts from the podcast program which at this time has over 500 subscribers.

So what are you waiting for? Make the DECISION and sign up for the Conference. Go to: http://arizonaleadership.orgsync.com/org/nclc/registrationtemp
I’ll see ya there!

Top 5 List For College Student Time Management

1. Plan At Least An Hour A Day For “ME”

As a college student if you want to avoid getting burned out, you need to schedule at least an hour a day just for you. Do something you like
to do. Get away from the books and chill out for a while.

2. Establish A Daily Personal Development Program

Every day you need to spend time in personal development. Read a self help book. Listen to a motivational seminar. Write down and review your personal goals. If you grow yourself, you will grow your life!

3. Have A Daily Action Plan

What are you going to do today? Write out a to do list of things you want to accomplish today. But stay away from the mistake that most
People make. Putting too much on the list. Just pick a couple of things
Out that you know you can get done.

4. Prioritize Your Projects

Make a list once a week what you need to get done. Then prioritize them by due date and importance of what needs to be accomplished.
By doing this you will stay on top what needs to get done and when
You are going to do them.

5. Decide Daily What Your Attitude Will Be

Your attitude is the single most important thing you have control over. You need to decide right away in the morning when you get up what your attitude is going to be. Make the wrong decision and it doesn’t matter what you PLAN on getting done…NOTHING will get done!

Make sure you go to the website www.LeadershipDecisionCollegeRadio.com and sign up for the free newsletter and get your free E-book: "Time Management For College Students!"
